Where nothing means nothing

Updated --

I...I don't even know what to say anymore.

I don't know where to take this.

When I'm feeling this loss of words, I usually turn to Ramon. He's my hockey guru. A Ducks fan from day one, he always has an answer for me (he always has an answer for EVERYTHING...but that's just Ramon). Last night after the game I asked him what was going on.
Silence. Nothing. Finally, his only thought..."They didn't play bad."

So what's the problem? I don't know either. It's not a lack of offense, teams aren't upset with getting 3 goals a night. However, giving up 4 is not going to help either.

The Ducks have played 10 games this season with a final score of 3-4. Their record in those games? 3-5-2 (8 points). Reverse that fortune 7-3 (14 points). At this point in the season where everything is SO close, 6 points is 6 points. (Click for a larger view).

What does this mean? Do the Ducks need to make a trade? Change the lines? Change the coaching staff? Something.

I just don't know what that something is.

All in all, I have no voice today, and nothing to show for it.

I'm just bummed.

I was excited to see that my first two predictions were correct...for the most part. Ryan Getzlaf gets his overdue goal (no assist from Corey Perry though) and thanks to a beautiful move by Getzy, Perry got his goal as well. As for the rest? Well, both Bobby Ryan and Andrew Ebbett had their opportunities and I believe Ryan Carter had the first SOG for the Ducks. Jiggy? He let 3+1 get by. I think the 4th goal was high sticking, but what can you do about it now?

I hope this road trip goes better for the Ducks. Tomorrow night they visit the equally frustrated Pittsburgh Penguins for a showdown between #1 and #2. I've already made my prediction on that, but you'll have to wait for tomorrow's edition of Ducks in a Row.

The positive for today?
I love the Ducks, through the good and the bad...I have been lucky enough to experience the ULTIMATE and I KNOW that things could be worse. I'm grateful that while they aren't winning, there are still nights when they go out and play exciting hockey. It's bound to pay off.

GO DUCKS! I'm always a fan.

AND because I love Bobby Ryan...AND because I'd love to see more of this...And because I think these goals never get old...
