I'm looking for a discussion here. I don't care where the discussion goes or where it begins, but it's time for...SOMETHING.
So I have a few ideas.
One: I can try and come up with some enticing topics and pose them as questions. (I don't prefer this method since I have been racking my brain and can't seem to come up with anything)
Two: readers (yes, that would be you) can send in topics or suggestions to my email or leave them as comments. From there, we can post and see what becomes of these fine discussions.
Three: You can email me an overwhelming response of, "Sara, this idea blows...move on" and I'll just drop it.
I love watching the Ducks play. I love talking about it here (obviously) and to anyone who gives me five seconds to rant (ironically, these same people usually don't give a tiny rats ass about it). I also love to read about them AND have discussions about it. So lets do that people.
Here goes my first attempt at making this happen...
The Ducks are currently going to be facing ALOT of expiring contracts at the end of this season. Here is a list of the current players who will be UFA's next season:
Brendan Morrison
Todd Marchant
Rob Niedermayer
Samuel Pahlsson
Travis Moen
Brian Sutherby
Brad May
George Parros
Brad Larsen
Scott Niedermayer
Francois Beauchemin
Bret Hedican
Steve Montador
Kent Huskins
Nathan McIver (RFA)
Brett Festerling (RFA)
(Here is a list of players still under contract for next season: Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry, Chris Kunitz, Teemu Selanne, Bobby Ryan, Ryan Carter, Chris Pronger, JS Giguere and Jonas Hiller...hmmm, that seems like 2 possible strong lines to me.)
What 3 players would you make a priority in re-signing? Who would you gladly watch slip away? Who, not on this list, would you make an attempt at picking up in the off season (sorry, you'll have to do that research yourself)?
Feel free to email your responses to Ducks11eleven (and I will gladly compile responses) or post as a comment following this blog.
This should be fun right (insert a timid smile here)?
GO DUCKS!!!!!
