It's so much easier to talk about the game when you've actually seen it!! Good thing I was at the game last night!
Lets start with some good news...
Found! Corey Perry getting a goal last night on what was a beautiful set of passes between he and Chris Kunitz. It was a beautiful play that had the Wild defensemen...going wild! They were strewn about and laying on the ice just trying to intercept one of the beautiful cross ice passes between Perry and Kunitz. Glad to remove you from the milk carton Perry. In addition this reward was given...
A win!
Your replacement however...
MISSING: POWER PLAY SCORING. The Ducks have 2 Power Play goals in their last 20 attempts (5 games dating back to 12/3 against Chicago)! 10%! Some 5 on 3 chances and a 4 minute man advantage against the Wild last night are among a few of the missed opportunities. (On a side note...the PK is 83% killing off the last 19 of 23 opportunities in those same 5 games).
REWARD IF FOUND: Some potential goals for Teemu Selanne since we all know he won't be getting any of them while playing with you know who.
Chris Pronger was the silent man last night. Making a quiet but deadly impact with 2 assists and some fancy floor work blocking shots. I was thinking he was going to make the milk carton this morning because he seems to be off his game a bit lately...but instead decided to put up a search for the Power Play instead.
Another highlight goal of the night was (ha! I know you aren't expecting that guy are you?) the great feed to Bobby Ryan from George Parros. After practically getting his head taken off... Ryan was in the perfect position to receive a great pass from Parros who capitalized on a Wild turnover with a wide open net for Ryan in return. Funny, wouldn't you think that as a goalie you'd be more mindful of a wide open Bobby Ryan than a guy like George Parros? Whatever, it seems like lately they'll both make you pay for mistakes. Beautiful. Just as enjoyable was watching the two of them celebrating the goal. I guess when you aren't scoring points on a regular basis, every goal is a treat! Parros already having a career season is on course to possibly double his all time points in just a matter of a few games. Before this season began his total career numbers were 4-7=11 points (dating back to his first season with the Kings in 2005/2006). This season alone the Stache has posted 3-5=8 points. After 31 games played he's on pace for 21 points this season! Bring em Georgie!!
Anyway, if you missed any of the action, be sure to check out Ducks TV. Great highlights of all 4 goals are shown.
GO DUCKS!!!!
OH! I'd just like to point this out too...about the company you keep...
Ryan Getzlaf is currently 4th in the league in scoring just behind Evgeni Malkin, Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin. I don't know what that says to any of you...but to me it says that this guy is seriously one of the best players in the league! OH HEY...it also means...he's NUMBER ONE IN THE WEST!!!!!!!!And yet...he's not in the starting lineup for the All Star game. Maybe Ducks fans are showing that they aren't currently in the top 4 on the list of the best fans in the league (did that one sting a bit? I hope it did cause I'm trying to light a fire here!). Prove me wrong people, cause I think we all know he should be there and I REALLY don't want to be right about the fans.
