For tonight's game, I don't know if I should predict from my head or my heart.
Ironically they're both 50/50.
My head says that realistically, with the way the Ducks have been playing, they are going to get smashed tonight. My head's also telling me that the Ducks play so much better when their opponent is better.
My heart on the other hand is telling me that this season is over and it doesn't really make a difference. However, my love for this team won't let me give up on playoff hopes!
So...prediction goes like this.
Recent call-up Brian Salcido is going to get his first NHL goal in his first NHL game tonight. Mostly because Brett Festerling didn't get one in the 37 games he played with Anaheim this season and because there is probably no chance in hell that it's going to play out this way.
Likewise, let's give a goal to George Parros and...wait for it...Brendan Morrison. Why not throw Ryan Carter in there too, since he's likely to be a scratch again tonight...which will actually just send me on a tantrum of other topics...so we'll move right along.
That being said. It's possible the Ducks can win tonight, it's possible they can score these goals...it's possible that these gentleman can be the ones to score them...but the likelihood of any one of these things happening is very doubtful.
So I'll be using the 50% of my heart that will never give up on this team and the 50% of my brain that thinks it knows better.
GO DUCKS!!!
